If you listen through the back catalogue of Whoop!, you will recognize that this label changed their dark melodic trance/progressive sound to a more dirty, Electro House sound at a very early date, around 2002. The typical Trance synths changed to the typical distorted Electro House synths almost cold turkey. Listen to "Karma / Calmer" by Tarrentella from 2001 and you will know where the journey goes from then on. Especially some of the Mike Monday and D. Ramirez tracks and remixes sound not so far away from what the Dutch House or the SHM scene does. It's so funny to hear that so less has changed in House music since then.

Nice to see this label releasing again - one of the few labels out there that consistenly released keeper after keeper ... I still spin songs like "Way Of The Wave," "Very Contemporary," and "Journeyman" and the floor fills time afer time... Given what I've seen so far this year (2005) it looks like the Whoop! crew hasn't lost their groove... Looking forward to more future essentials..

If Bedrock became the flagship of progressive house, then surely Whoop! has been its parallel in the world of progressive trance. Release after release has been hypnotic and melodic quality.

As the genre went into remission after about 2000, so did Whoop!, which continues to release though at a very subdued pace.
