I saw a sign (November 2016) for the demolition of the building at 727 W. Randolph St, the original location for DJ International. Just curious if anybody knows anything about this. Should be considered a building of historical value for the city of Chicago :- )

THE FIRST RECORD LABEL TO CALL OR LABEL ITSELF HOUSE MUSIC!!! (Dj-888)
NO ONE HAS EVER CALLED IT'S MUSIC, HOUSE MUSIC BEFORE THE SPRING OF 1985!!!

Trax recently released a boxset, it would be great if DJ International did the same.

There was a pdf press release dated January 7, 2007 on the Phuture Trax Records website stating their intent for acquisition of the DJ International Records catalog. Under the new agreement, it stated that Phuture Trax retains the exclusive distribution rights for all music within the DJ International catalog and that the music will be packaged as collections and distributed across the globe under the Phuture Trax label. No definitive date has been given at all at this time on if or when the releases will become available to the public.

I am really stunned that nobody, up until now, made a comment on such a groundbreaking and historically important label! This label was the first "real" house music label and - as many people can easily see through its catalogue - released most of the early and influential house classics. And it's no secret that many of this music still sounds as fresh and vital as back then. Respect is due to DJ International!
