Island Records Manufacturing Ltd

Profile:

Island Records' own dedicated record pressing plant (and occasionally contracted for other labels).
Established on 18 December 1974 after an acquisition, the plant opened in June 1975 and was operating until December 1977.
Then it was sold to WEA and renamed to WEA Records Pressing Plant, West Drayton.
The company "Island Records Manufacturing Limited" was established on 30 April 1974 and dissolved on 14 June 1991.

Pressings (or repressings from existing masters) can be recognised by etched identifiers in the runout area: "I - #" or "Ⅰ-#", where # is a number (mother).
12"s and LPs can normally be recognized by the dipped pressing rings: 33 mm inner ring + 70 mm outer ring + a depression at the outer label edges.
