Transatlantic Records

Profile:

British independent label, established in 1961 by Heathside Music Ltd..
Releases from the 60s have the purple and white, rough structured labels. First design had a purple round globe, stating 'Transatlantic Records'. In 1966 the design changed to a white globe in a purple square, with just a 't' next to it. Shortly after that, the globe was aligned around the spindle hole.
In the early 70s, the label design changed again, to the multicolored and black and white 'Globe' label, which had several color variations.

In 1975, Joseph sold a 75% share of his company to Sidney Bernstein's Granada Group and the company became part of Granada. Two years later Granada sold its share to the Marshall Cavendish publishing company, which also acquired Joseph's 25% share. The new company was renamed Universal Music Group in 2007.

Label codes (since May 1976) include: LC 0372

Back catalogue (1961-1977) released with "TRAL" prefix, are Logo Records reissues published from 1978 on.
"TRAL" means Transatlantic/Logo (TRA+L).

Best folk label out there in my opinion, at least in its early incarnation. I've yet to find any album worth owning on the multicolour label.

TRA 198 was scheduled to be an LP by Larry Cunningham according to the sleeve notes on "Here's to the Irish - Volume Two" (TRA SAM 11).
