Founded in 1901 as a sales office for Deutsche Grammophon-Aktiengesellschaft covering Austria-Hungary and the Balkans.
The factory was opened in 1909 by Joseph Berliner as a manufacturing-branch of Deutsche Grammophon-Aktiengesellschaft in Aussig an der Elbe, Austria-Hungary in response to the steep import duties in the monarchy. Production began in April 1910 and closed when the first world war started in 1914.
After WW1 it was bought by The Gramophone Co. Ltd..
