The University of Texas at Austin, also known as UT Austin, UT, and often simply as University of Texas, is an American public research university, established in 1881. UT Austin is the flagship institution of the University of Texas System, and the fifth-largest campus in the USA, with over 50,000 (under)graduate students and 24,000 faculty and staff. One of the so-called Public Ivies, UT provides a quality of education comparable to those of the Ivy League.
