Twitch was established in July of 1991 by Randall Erkelens. When they started the record label, they were producing remix compilations for subscribing DJ's seeking alternate mixes of current underground dance music. They released a total of 14 volumes in the 2x12" vinyl series, 10 CD's in their CD / compact Disc series and 2 CD's in their "Best Of " series. Like some other DJ Remix-service companies of the era, they would skip having an issue called "Volume 13" in the 2x12" vinyl series, considering it to be an unlucky number.

In July of 1995, they discontinued the remix service series and started to release 12" singles and a series entitled "San Francisco Sound Spectrum" a compilation that focuses on the best underground dance music being produced in San Francisco.

    Where on the CD's (and some vinyls) does it say Twitch Recordings as the title?? Although this may be the label, I don't think these are titled properly. They just just be Twitch. Also the catalog numbers on the CD's have hyphens like TW-CD-01.
