Original Jazz Classics Limited Edition Series

Terri Hinte, who was Fantasy's director of press and public information from 1973 to 2006, shared the following information about this series in March 2020: "The Original Jazz Classics Limited Edition series was meant to include those albums that were less mainstream and were likely to have a smaller potential audience, than those released as regular OJCs. Also, the Limited Editions had a higher list price. The 'Limited Edition' concept was primarily about audience interest (as Ralph Kaffel perceived it) than about scarcity."

Some pre-1994 CDs had a second pressing in September 1994 or later, due to the presence of SID codes not present on the initial CDs.
