CBE is a French recording studio, a label, a publishing and a photography studio, founded in 1966 by Georges Chatelain (director), and Janine Bisson.
The studio was technologically cutting-edge and on the forefront of experimentation and innovation with the know-how of Gunter Loof. It was the first studio in to use 8-track; in 1972 24-track equipment was installed and the 32 tracks will be installed in 1978
In 1974 Bernard Estardy took over the management of the studio with his wife Michèle Estardy (Mimi)
Since 2006 it has been directed by their daugther Alexandre Vitrac
For near 60 years, the CBE studio has seen the greatest artists through and the most emblematic French songs were born (Françoise Hardy, Claude Francois, Dalida, Patricia Kaas, Celine Dion, Francis Cabrel, Joe Dassin, Michel Sardou, Gérard Lenorman, Julien Doré, Juliette Armanet, Pomme, Sebastien Tellier, Bertrand Burgalat, Kavinsky, Ben l'oncle soul, Lilly Wood and the prick, Chassol, Bénabar, Amadou & Mariam, Alain Chamfort, Berry... )
