Canadian manufacturing company founded July 28, 1969 in Montréal (Mont Royal) as Cinram Ltd./Cinram Ltée. by Isidore Philsophe (President) and Samuel Sokoloff. Originally manufactured cassette and 8-tracks, by the mid-1970s their Montréal operation was Canada's largest manufacturer of tapes. They expanded operations in1979 to include vinyl at a Scarborough, Ontario plant and moved its head office to that location. Their first CD pressing plant opened March 27, 1987. Cinram eventually became one of the world's largest CD pressing companies. Became Cinram International, Inc. in 2006.
