Microforum Services Group

Profile:

Microforum Services Group is a Canadian replicator of CD and DVD, a vinyl pressing plant, as well as a diskette, video and audio cassettes duplicator.
Founded 1986 in Toronto.

Vinyl pressings can be identified by "V#######(#)" (e.g. V1273867) in the runouts, where
- V stands for the class "Vinyl",
- the first two digits (07, 10, 12) for the size,
- the remaining 5 or 6 digits are sequential inhouse numbers for manufacturing.
This code can be added as LCCN number along with Pressed By.

CDs sometimes have a mould SID of IFPI UU075. The mould also often has “MCF-CDx” where the last character is a variable digit.
When there is a matrix number MFxxxx, MFAxxxx or MFAxxxxx in the matrix, this can be entered as the catalog number for Microforum Services Group in the LCCN section.

Some CDs have a security code in the mirror band immediately after the barcode that appears to be a set of distorted characters (see [MSG security code]677-C2-39048-99489A MFA97003 MADE IN CANADA

Never seen so bad copies coming right out of a pressing plant - it seems there is absolutely no quality control.

Does Microforum have a quality control department? I've never gotten a record that didn't have audible defects
