Berliner Philharmonie

Profile:

Landmark German concert hall in Berlin; successor of the Berliner Philharmoniker. Located on the south edge of the city's Tiergarten, it was built from 1960 to 1963 by Hans Scharoun and opened 15 October 1963.
There are two halls in the Philharmonie:
Großer Saal (Grand Hall) for up to 2440 seats and the
Kammermusiksaal (Chamber Music Hall) for up to 1180 seats.
Though two halls were conceived together, the smaller hall was opened in 1987.
