British electronic dance and clubbing magazine, launched by DMC in 1983.
With the rise of house music in the late 1980s, editor and DJ Dave Seaman turned the magazine from a newsletter for DJs into a magazine covering all dance music and club culture.
Editor from 1988 to 1991: Dave Seaman.
Deputy editor circa 1990: Guy Wingate.
Deputy editor from 1990 to 1991: Dom Phillips was assistant editor from 1991 and editor from December 1993 to 1999.
All the cover-mounted CDs up to February 2007 (issue 189) were in jewel cases. CDs that came with issues 190 to 220 (up to September 2009) were in both discbox sliders and also standard cardboard sleeves. After this the CDs came in cardboard sleeves both standard and gatefold until they stopped including CDs at the end of 2016. In 2018 digital cover mix releases were introduced.
The magazine stopped its print edition in early 2020.
