Universal Motown Records Group

Profile:

Also branded simply as Motown.

In 2006, The Universal Motown Records Group was rebranded as the Universal Motown Republic Group, after Universal Republic Records.

After the UMRG unit was dismantled in 2011, Universal Motown was absorbed to the recently-revived Motown, while Universal Republic was renamed back to Republic. Universal Records in turn was permanently shut down, moving all of its artists to either Motown or Republic.

Today, many of its releases are handled by either Republic or Motown under UMe.
