Edited 20 years agoI think two more tracks on this label are worthy of a mention. One is 'Break Of Dawn' by Rhythm On The Loose which has a nice floaty intro (initially reminiscent of the opening of 'Go' by Moby), a laid-back housey vibe and "I'm surprised to see your suitcase at the door..." vocals borrowed from the opening lines of often-sampled Salsoul classic 'Let No Man Put Asunder'. The other is 'All Funked Up' by Mother which totally lives up to its title with broken beats, guitar licks, funk riffs and - most notably - some wicked horn-lines. Those are my favourite Six6 tracks along with Slo Moshun's 'Bells of N.Y.' (that Kerria mentioned previously) which has a big simple piano hook throughout the house mix plus a (slightly cheesy) slow funky breakbeat section but, erm, no bells!? ...Those are actually quite easy choices as I find most of the label's output a bit too deep and soulful for my liking.
