Porcupine Records (2)

Profile:

Porcupine Records was founded mid 2010 a few months after Platipus ceased trading.

Just like Platipus, Porcupine is the brainchild from artist/producer Simon Berry continuing on the same musical path Platipus has taken over the years.

In collaboration with Banshee Worx (Belgium) the new imprint is introduced to the public initially covering first all the solo and collaboration productions by Simon Berry and in the future this will be expanded to other artists, possibly including former Platipus artists.

Basically nothing much has changed, Simon is still at the musical controls directing the label in a strong and guidelined sound expanding on the years of experience through Platipus and his own musical ventures such as Union Jack, Art Of Trance, Clanger, Poltergeist and Conscious.

Simon will also release a new Art Of Trance single entitled ‘The Horn’ as an official new release on the Porcupine Records label, the first of many release to come…

The label has been ceased in order to relaunch the entire Porcupine catalogue under the new Platipus name Platipus Music.

I find it slightly amusing how some s were arguing un politely because someone apparently couldn't tell the difference between Progressive House and Trance. You know, It's fairly often I find Progressive House miss tagged as Progressive Trance here at Discogs. dogbrain555's miss tag isn't as bad as people calling every single electronic music style known to man as "techno" I've also seen people on YT calling every Trance music sub genre as Psy-Trance go figure. Progressive House and Progressive trance are vaguely similar. Though distinguishable.

It's trance ,a lot of it acidic trance.Dogbrain needs to listen to some some tunes back to back to hear the difference, Jackpot records was a proghouse label from the 90's, listen to a tune by Amethest or tenth chapter and then listen to a Plat release like Kaleidoscope or Cactus, to me the difference in styles are obvious!!!

This music is definitely not progressive house, it is 100% pure trance music.
