History:
- ODS Optical Disc Solutions Inc. has a long history in compact disc manufacturing, with roots reaching back to the birth of CD technology in Japan in the early 1980s. Those roots go back to Sanyo Laser Products, Inc. to open a sister facility in Richmond, Indiana, a CD DVD Disc Replicator active 1987 to Jan. 26, 1995 and Jan 1, 2001 to April 2005.
- Established in 1986 , It began production circa June 1987 using glass masters from Sanyo's Gifu, Japan plant and began in-house glass mastering in 1988.
- A t Venture between Sanyo-Verbatim CD Company and renaming of the plant from 27th January 1995, to Dec. 31, 2000. Sanyo's plant, which had been producing CD audio products, offered state-of-the-art manufacturing and pressing, sales and service operations. Its capacity was expanded with an undisclosed amount of cash contributed by Verbatim, which added its optical disc technology as well as sales and marketing expertise, especially in the OEM market.
- The t venture was dissolved Jan. 2001 following Sanyo's buy back of Verbatim's 50% and the name changed back to Sanyo Laser Products, Inc. more commonly referring to itself simply as Sanyo Laser Products.
- The plant manager, Fred Austerman, bought the plant from Sanyo March 31, 2005 and named the new company Optical Disc Solutions Inc. a newly formed Richmond IN USA company.
- The plant closed when Optical Disc Solutions was sold to WTS Media (Wholesale Tape & Supply Co. Inc.) in May 2015 and production moved to Chattanooga TN
