What to say about this label ...

It's an overrated label many tracks were too commercial back then in the 90's era . Many of these tracks were heard a hundred times on the radio in Belgium and other European countries , also in every clubs you had to listen and made your ears bleed from the same annoying tracks over and over again and as it wasn't enough when buying CD compilations you found those there as if they were forced to have these Bonzaï tracks there such as Thunderdome and other Arcade label compilations or Zyx , etc...

Another negative point is the poor quality of many of the records they sold many times the tunes weren't recorded properly and thus wasn't centered on the record . Also alot of the times the titles on the record were interverted so side A was in reality side B and vice versa . The poor quality of the sleeve ....

I'm from Belgium but this Bonzaï label is overhyped only a couple tunes are great the rest is garbage . There were better labels in the 90's that offered much better materials .

For me 90% of the Bonzaï label catalogue has dated badly .

Whether it be hard trance, trancecore, gabba, euro trance, hardcore, progressive trance, uplifting, techy trance this label covers everything. In fact i dont think there is a trance Dj out there who doesnt own or play a Bonzai record. This is the label that gave us trance icons such as Laurent Veronnez, Dirk "M.I.K.E." Dierickx, Dave Davis to name a few, there are sooo many big anthems from this label that i simply dont have time to mention all of them. Played by a variety of jocks all over the world, it was Mark Eg who first got me into this label when he played for Bonzai all those years ago.
Once the label (sadly) went bankrupt in 2003 alot of the hard trance died with it, a sad day for trance music and I will always cherish those memories and records i have from such a forward thinking label.

quite simply the best oldskool hardtrance label out there...span out classic after classic from 94-99 especially between 94 and 96...caned by every single hardtrance dj and beyond...seminal releases such as house of house/cybertrance/transfiguration + literally 100 odd more tunes put bonzai at the pure forefront of raves and clubs back in the day...it even had its moments right until the mid millenium...has to be my favourite label in history and probably the same for any oldskool hardtrance head that knows their stuff

consistency was also the key for the mighty bonzai

much loved sounds that are captured forever on plastic and will NEVER be forgeotten
