I looked at another 10-12 of them on eBay and they are all white, except one, which has hints of color, but is mostly white.
Mine, if you look at the final picture in the listing, has an amazing smoky, swirl of fiery colors.
So, my questions are these:
Was mine part of a separate run? (date & label are 1978, like the others, and I've found no evidence of a repress)
How limited was this edition? (no sign of numbering on label or cover, and the Discogs entry doesn't say)
here´s your answer: I love that pic, but it looks like a defect record "brozeing" over time and should probably better be explained in Notes rather than adding a pic
&are you sure you ask in the correct forumwatchcarefully?
Thanks for the input. Based on examination of the record (label, cover, ID markings), at the time I added it to my collection here, it is from the original release era. I would guess that it's a pressing from the (I assume) single production run and the machine operator added a bit of color to it (on a whim?). Not a separate release, IMO, but a variant of the original pressing--this seems most likely to me. It's lovely, compared to the ordinary milky-white pressings and I feel lucky to have found it.
