Kid Unknown – Nightmare

Thought I would jib in on this .. i recorded at OPUS at the time and the first release on 106 Records was done by myself and Stev under the name PERFORMA , i was also recording many other tracks there at this exact time .. such as DANCE NO MORE ( ELUSTRIOUS )
Heres what i know for sure .. Nipper only came along to the studio because i had told him i was recording there .. he turned up with a bunch of vinyls ... asked Stev to sample the beats of them ..and then Stev ( andy stevenson ) built the track and did all the synths .. arranged, mixed and produced the whole thing ... nipper then stole the dat and took it to warp like a f*ckin weasel that he was .. a court battle then took place in liverpool in which i was present as a witness ,to Andy .. Andy won the case and proved he had written the track.. but it was too late ...the track was out on warp as a Kid Unknown production .. and the rest is history ...

So is this a bootleg remix or just the tunes that where already out there?

This was originally on '106 Records', but we only made 3 Test Pressings. When I eventually put it out (after Warp's half finished version) it was on 'Essence'.

After Nipper allegedly stole the DAT from the studio, he took it to Warp who bought it off him there and then for a few hundred quid. According to Stev (Studio Manager) Nipper never did jack to the track. I can't say for certain as I was not there.
However it seems obvious when you look at the other 'Kid Unknown' tracks that he couldn't write a sick note let alone a great Breaks track.

This version was originally going to be credited as by 'Aurora 7' (another shit name by Stev, like 106 Records from his Juno keyboard). The mixes here are the complete finished versions, the warp release is a half completed studio demo.

There was a legal battle after all this, but I wasn't arsed really. I Just put this version out for a laugh.
Maybe to do someone's head in I suppose.
Don't know who, cause I've never met Nipper, and quite ire Warp.
