That would be a a whole batch of maybe 20 or more 7"s, to many to list them here.
But my first LP, that also came with that batch, was:
Whitesnake - Come An' Get It -

I'm not sure, can't really now, but I think it might have been Aerosmith - Pump
long gone now, lost interest in that kind of music in my early teens
the earliest record I bought that I still have is probably The Prodigy - Fire / Jericho
ps, when I was that young, up to about 12 or so, I wasn't really allowed to use the house record player without supervision, so I would have bought cassettes more -

YES.......I was one of those Ed Sullivan Kids that had their lives changed forever ! -

I always wanted to tell this story. I live in and in1967 I was constantly listening to music from my little transistor radio. When I heard The Casuals - Jesamine
There was a market near by selling fruits and vegetables. And .... there was a guy having a stall selling new LPs. He had a record player annd people were able to listen to the records. I took the chance and bought 4 LPs:
The Moody Blues - In Search Of The Lost Chord
So that were my first records, all bought at the same day. -

The Beatles - I Feel Fine, it was in the charts so I got it.
My brother got his first vinyl, an album The Chipmunks - The Chipmunks Sing The Beatles Hits, which made me jealous.
On reflection I made the best choice. -

I think most of us, in your and my age group, started out addicted to the radio first ! I couldn`t wait for the sun to go down to hear the great music from cities far away.

The Crazy World Of Arthur Brown - The Crazy World Of Arthur Brown
I just bought that a few years ago, because I will always "Fire" being played at Jr. High YMCA dances and that song always got everybody moving !
BlackRat
Nancy Sinatra - These Boots Are Made For Walkin' / The City Never Sleeps At Night
We all liked this song and thought that Nancy was one hot chick !
BlackRat
The Buffalo Springfield* - For What It's Worth (Stop, Hey What's That Sound)
Still Love Stephen`s early songs and vocals, as well as his guitar playing. -

Copped this one DJ Muggs vs. Sick Jacken* feat. Cynic - Legend Of The Mask And The Assassin on September 3rd 2009. Back in the day, I didn’t even have a turntable to play it on just bought it for the collection. Years later I had the chance to get it signed by them. I’d say it’s still in very good condition and has only been played a couple of times.
This thread brings back great memories! :D -

In my teens I was heavily indoctrinated by the music taste of my older brother (punk, metal, stoner), and the CD's I bought at the time (Kyuss, NOFX, Pulp Fiction OST to name a few) went straight into my brothers collection. When I turned 18 in the early 00's I started going clubbing and spent a few hours behind the turntables of a friend of mine and was instantly hooked.
I proceeded to often listen to Dutch public radio on the weekends, when they were still broadcasting live from house and techno parties/festivals, and bought a few mix CD's/compilations to get an idea of what I really would like to DJ with; Dave Clarke, James Holden, Grooverider...
Few months later my friend brought me along to a local record store, and I bought this: Petter (5) - Untitled Acid EP. I wasn't aware at the time what acid was, and it took me a few years to get back to it, coincidentally :) -

While I was first introduced to vinyl through my dad's old records, I think the first one I actually bought was $uicideboy$ - Sing Me A Lullaby, My Sweet Temptation
I bought it before I had a turntable, so it was mainly just for the art and to the artists, but 8 months later the snowball has started and I fell in love with the format. -

Think it was happy hardcore & jungle. Happy Anthems Volume 1 was one of the first. But I also got a bunch of stuff with thrown in with my first decks and mixer. They actually turned out to quite good after years of not really appreciating them.

Was one of them. Bunch of bits like this. Funny thing is he thinks he I overpaid for the shitty setup.
it makes no sense but I would love to arrange my collection (like in High Fidelity) or rather "view" it in chronological order to when they were owned. Would be a real journey so to speak. -

In 1972 I bought Neil Diamond Hot August Night. I was 10 years old and have been collecting ever since. That very album is still in my collection but I did purchase a reissue a few years ago as it had been played on less than stellar equipment over the years. My most recent purchases of a new release was Ohio Players by The Black Keys, Pomegranate by Tess Parks and the Goat selftitled release. -

Been collecting music since I was a little kid, however, the first vinyl record that I bought myself I found at a now-closed record store called "Respin Records" about 12 years ago or so. They had a room called the "dig room" full of playable, but not-so-good quality vinyl. I decided on Blind Faith (2) - Blind Faith and a ridiculous amount of money later, I'm still collecting. -

Thanks! I was lucky that I lived close to a place that had many of the top concerts so I was able to see many bands from 1971 through 1976. Then I got married and the prices for concerts started going way up so I only went to a few after that. -

The very first album I owned myself. I bought it at a garage sale when I was 7 in 1990 because the cover was cool. My grandfather was a country western guy so he always went through records and I'd look to at the covers. Cost me 50 cents with money I made from raking leaves. I didn't even have a record player myself till I was 12 but grandfather would let me play stuff I got on his when I was over. Even if he didn't like the music he'd always listen with me.
