Sometimes our recognition of dub techno artist grows slowly over time. Perhaps the first exposure is via a single track on a compilation or maybe an obscure or unpretentious 12" / EP release. I've enjoyed music by Altone since at least 2019 via the GREYSCALE label. Yet I see there were many digital releases from 2018. I now own many CDs and some vinyl by Altone and my respect for this artist from Japan keeps growing. I just haven't seen much talk about him so I thought I'd make a mention here.
Highly recommend.
Hey alternating bit, TIM here. Hope you are well. I also think Altone is a very talented producer. I write the promos for Greyscale and I am always excited when I see his name come across my email with a new release.

Altone's LP on Greyscale is one the best albums of dub techno history. This artist is great and I hope to see another physical / cd release soon.

Altone is an artist I’ve been following for quite some time now. It's nice to see some talk about him here, because from a production standpoint, he definitely deserves it. I really like his slow, dragging sound, which sets him apart. He has created something unique, which is not so easy to do, especially in the Dubtechno genre. I highly recommend an older EP of his (unfortunately only released digitally): Altone - Wonderous Numinous.
