Dario G

Profile:

Named after the manager of Crewe Alexandra, Dario Gradi, Dario G were a dance music trio from Crewe, Cheshire (UK). Its founding were DJs Paul Spencer, Scott Rosser and Stephen Spencer.
Known for their summer hit 'Voices', would be included in the OST to the movie 'The Beach'.

After Stephan Spencer left the group in 1999, the remaining Scott Rosser and Paul Spencer looked for a singer and finally found the Norwegian Ingfrid Straumstøyl. Here they would release the single 'In Full Colour'.

The 2002 the FIFA World Cup would use a rework of 'Carnaval de Paris' under the name 'Carnival 2002', as well as the single 'Heaven Is Closer (Feels Like Heaven)', both of which would hit the UK top 40. That same year Rosser would leave the project, leading Dario G to take a break.

In 2006 the duo attempted another World Cup single with a cover of Johnny Cash's 'Ring Of Fire', but to no avail. This was however remedied in 2010 when their song 'Game On' - featuring US rapper Pitbull - was released in collaboration with FIFA.

Throughout the 2010's Dario G kept releasing songs, working with the likes of Shirley Bassey, Clean Bandit, Danny Dearden & Sonique. Their last single 'Savour The Miracle Of Life (For Macmillan)' was used to raise money for the Macmillan Cancer Trust.
On June 17, 2024, Paul Spencer died at the age of 53 from complications of colon cancer .
