DJ A. Vee

Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, A.Vee is one of the most respected DJs in the battle/Turntablist scene. Getting his start back in 1988, A.Vee's been influenced by many of the great pioneers of true DJ'ing. In 1991, A.Vee began his involvement in the battle scene by means of the DMC and Clark Kent DJ competitions, there he developed a reputation from his performances which naturally translated into "show-dj'ing". Backing up rap artist like Black Rob, Jemini the Gifted One, Afu-Ra, Missin' Links, Paul Barmen, and many more. As a member of "The Untouchables", formally known as the Cold Cutz Crew, A.Vee keeps company with many well known DJ's in the industry. Other of this DJ crew include the likes of DJ Spinbad, Jazzy Jeff, DJ Revolution, and DJ Scratch from EPMD to name a few.

Along with doing various clubs throughout the city and beyond, A.Vee has also developed a following as an on-air radio DJ. Doing guest's spots on radio shows from coast to coast. At the same time A.Vee has created a following in the mixtape market with a series of underground hip-hop compositions.

A.Vee has been a prominent member of 88hiphop.com, an online hip-hop show on the Pseudo Online Network. This is an online hip-hop show which features top and hip hop guess. The show streams through the net via audio, and video which allows viewer to see and hear the whole 88hiphop experience with DJ A.Vee on the turntables.

In the summer of '99, A.Vee took part in the Sugar Ray & GooGoo Dolls Tour which was sponsored by Levis Silver Tab. For over twenty cities, A.Vee performed for the concert goers at the Levis Silver Tab Tent located at the venues.

A.Vee performed in Lincoln Center's Summer Festival 2000. There, a piece written in 1951 by modern classical composer John Cage called Imaginary Landscape was performed by a DJ quartet. A.Vee, Christan Marclay (Medeski Martin & Wood), Kuttin Kandi (5th platoon), and Frankie Inglese (Soul Kitchen, BeavHer) performed the piece that was written for the turntable. The method of creating the piece was done by playing 42 different records and splicing them together. That was the first time it's ever been performed on the instrument it was created for.
